if your MSFC2 is configured to boot a missing or corrupted images file, it will fall into loop boot. To prevent it, you should boot MSFC2 without its boot configuration
Switch to MSFC2 from your supervisor (SP) by the following command:
sup> switch console
You should see that MSFC2 is in boot loop. Send several Ctrl-Break until you will see
rommon 1>
Then configure MSFC2 to skip its boot configuration
(A break-sequence has been sent here)
monitor: command "boot" aborted due to user interrupt rommon 1 > confreg 0x42
You must reset or power cycle for new config to take effect rommon 2 > reset Then manually boot a valid boot helper or system image:
rommon 3> boot bootflash:c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-8b.E20.bin
After booting is finished, you can configure boot settings
